Montana Safety Culture Act – In 1993 the Montana Legislature addressed many problems within the workers’ compensation system. One of the solutions was the passage of the Montana Safety Culture Act. The legislators understood then, as we do today, that the one way to fix our workers’ compensation system was to prevent workplace injuries. They believed that if all businesses had a good safety culture this would most certainly lessen the burden of the system. Now twenty years later, we will review the Act, its concepts, and how it applies to the Montana workplaces of today.
