Physical injury. Financial pain. Nothing can compare to the personal impact of a worker injury on his or her wellbeing, as well as on the families of those hurt. Nevertheless, it's also worth noting that nearly every worker injury translates also into a financial burden. One of the most direct indicators of this can be seen in rising workers compensation premiums.
Stopping the bleeding: prevention. The WCRI research indicates that the best way to avoid high premiums from injury is to prevent injuries from happening in the first place*. Research** from the National Council on Compensation Insurance suggests that as a whole, Montana businesses could save millions of dollars in total costs by bringing worker injury results down to the national average.
