Safety in Retail

Whatever you’re selling, do it safely. Montana’s retail businesses make up a growing and consistently thriving sector. Our stores, shops, warehouses, distributorships and outlets are as unique as the people running them. Unfortunately, they all come with a unique set of safety hazards as well.

What are your safety hazards? Ladders, stairs and escalators • Broken glass • Pins, box cutters and scissors • Lifting, loading and moving • Slips, trips and falls • Crime • Ergonomic insufficiencies • Cumulative trauma disorders (carpal tunnel, back pain) • Eye care & lighting • Electricity • Fire

Employees from age 16 to 24 are designated as Young Workers; their experience and attitudes (and employee rights) are unique. Learn why here.
